Protecting children’s eyes during sports participation will be one of the key themes at next month’s opti trade show in Munich.

Organiser GHM looked to stats from the US which showed that every 13 minutes a child suffered an eye injury while playing sport and the 512,000 accidents that occurred every year in Germany.

Delegates at the event in January 28-30 will be able to see the likes of Bollé, Pricon and Julbo, along with special talks on the subject and the release of the results of a new German study from the Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB) on sports spectacle testing.

The organiser recently held a webinar on the topic attended experts from Germany and Switzerland, including Dr Gernot Jendrusch, a sports scientist from the RUB.
