Optical Express opens Dartford ophthalmology clinic

Dartford MP Gareth Johnson opened a new Optical Express ophthalmology clinic that provides laser eye, intraocular lens and cataract surgery.

The treatment centre was designed to alleviate demand on local NHS services and has seen £3m invested, creating new optometrist and ophthalmic surgeon job opportunities.

Optical Express relocated from its site at Bluewater shopping centre and expanded its services in Dartford so that patients no longer have to travel to central London for surgery.

Johnson said: ‘The opening of this new clinic is fantastic news for Dartford. Our town is a great place to do business and this investment in new jobs and state of the art technology by Optical Express proves just that.’
