Date set for Optical Express fitness to practise hearing

Optical Express will appear before a General Optical Council fitness to practise committee on September 2 2020.

The Council alleged that the multiple failed to respond to appropriately and in a timely manner to formal complaints raised by five separate patients. It was also alleged one of the patients was denied a refund within a reasonable period of time.

The allegations, which the GOC said impaired fitness to practise by virtue of misconduct, were said to have taken place between July 2015 and January 2017.

The hearing was scheduled to take place via video conference.
