Entries are now welcome for the 2019 Optician Awards with new categories, new sponsors and a fun 1980s theme for the big presentation bash next spring (March 31).
Brand new for 2019 is Frame Stylist of the Year sponsored by Transitions. This category will seek to reward those stylists who understand how to match the latest generation of photochromic lenses to the patient and their frames. Entry will be through images of clients wearing such lenses.
A Low Vision Award will also be presented to a practice that provides low vision support to patients but works with charities and social services to improve provision.
Also among the 18 categories are Independent Practice of the Year, sponsored by Hoya, Contact Lens Practice of the Year, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, and The Practice Growth Award, sponsored by A+E+L Markhams. There are categories for all types of products, while Optometrist of the Year is sponsored by Coopervision this year and Contact Lens Practitioner of the Year by Alcon.
