NHS Scotland claims forms can now be submitted via the PMS

Practice management software (PMS) producer Optinet has released a software that enables practitioners to submit General Ophthalmic Services (GOS1) claims via the NHS Scotland online ophthalmic payments system.

This addition to the company’s Flex system has been made live and according to a statements released by Optinet was ‘set to align optometry with other primary care contractor groups, general medical practitioners, dentists and pharmacists.’

Optinet UK sales manager Chris Smith said: ‘The benefits of e-Ophthlamic Payments to the practitioner are better financial control, better data quality, less paper and more automation of reporting.

‘Moreover, the system all but eliminates the need for ‘Return to Contractor’ letters and enables the use of the community health index for positive patient identification. We are extremely proud to be the first PMS provider in the UK to offer our customers this important new upgrade.’
