Optometrist helps fill the fundraising gap

Bournemouth-based optometrist will complete the 2.6 Challenge this weekend

An optometrist who was due to run the London Marathon this weekend (April 26) before its postponement will complete the 2.6 Challenge instead to raise money for Fight for Sight.

Bournemouth-based Charlotte Wisdom is taking part in the multi-activity event, which has been organised to raise money for charities whose funding has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking about the event, Wisdom said: ‘The London Marathon and countless other fundraising events have been postponed or cancelled as a result of coronavirus, which could potentially have a devastating impact on charities like Fight for Sight, who will not benefit from the government’s charity support package. I’m asking my colleagues and peers to join me in the 2.6 Challenge to get creative and have some fun while raising money for life-changing eye research.’
