Optometrist in the running for Young Business Person of the Year

The owner and optometrist at Specsavers Barnet has been revealed to be a finalist for Young Business Person of the Year as part of Hertfordshire Business Awards.

Dimple Kumar, 28, started her career in optometry at the age of 16, where she worked at the Specsavers practice in Wembley, before studying for a degree at Anglia Ruskin University. She became one of the practice directors in Barnet in November 2017.

Kumar said: ‘I’m just over the moon to be shortlisted and recognised for my achievements to date. Becoming an optician and having my own store has been a dream of mine since I was 16 years old. That teenager never thought she would be shortlisted for an esteemed business award many years later!’
