Optometry Scotland hosts 2019 Nations Summit

Optometry Scotland was the host of the 2019 Nations Summit which was held at its Glasgow headquarters between March 14-15.

Attended by Optometry Northern Ireland, Optometry Wales, ABDO, Locsu, FODO and the Association of Optometrists Ireland, the aim of the summit was to discuss ongoing changes in modern optometry, industry challenges and work to shared objectives.

Chair of Optometry Scotland Samantha Watson said: ‘We believe it’s vital that Optometry Scotland and our fellow optical bodies across the UK and Ireland work closely together and pool knowledge on shared aims and objectives in a rapidly changing environment. The most effective way to take on these common objectives is through a joined-up approach, agree shared positions on challenges and issues, and set integrated aims and lobbying objectives for the future.’
