Partnership to boost research participation

Ora worked with the Macular Society to improve patient participation

Pharmaceutical company Ora has partnered with the Macular Society to increase patient awareness and participation in clinical research, as well as support advancement of treatments.

The Macular Society said patients played a vital role in research and new treatments would not be developed without them.

Geraldine Hoad, research manager for the Macular Society, said: ‘By working with Ora we hope we can encourage more patients to take part in these trials and understand the wide-ranging benefits of being involved in research.’

Ora and the Macular Society highlighted that patient participation in clinical trials was extremely low in the UK but its partnership would seek to change this by educating patients.
