Further publicity against the unregulated sale of cosmetic contact lenses emerged this week.
optician understands that BBC TV's news programme for children, Newsround, is researching an item on the matter after warnings to teenagers, some of whom swap their lenses.
This follows an article in The Observer (November 9) which claimed there was more evidence that purchasers can damage their eyes from unsupervised sales.
A second reading of a bill aimed at limiting sales of the lenses will take place next week.
