Practice roof vandals caught on camera

An optometrist has captured a group of youths on film who continue to trespass onto her practice roof and damage the building.

Julie Breen, director and owner of IntelliSight Opticians on Redcar High Street, has been hit with running repairs and published the pictures on social media to help police identify the trespassers.

She said the youths have been sneaking up an unsecured stairway and along roof tiles to the rooftop, at times carrying bikes. Breen has witnessed them purposely smashing tiles and eating pizza, she added.

The independent practice moved into the premises 18 months ago, and immediately had the roof repaired. However, following constant abuse of the area by the youngsters it has again needed to pay for repairs.
