German investment firm Premium Equity Partners (PEP) has acquired majority shares in eyewear manufacturer ic! berlin for an undisclosed sum.
Ralph Anderl, who was the sole owner of the company, will now take up a position on a newly-created advisory board. Chairman of the new board is Wolfgang Rebstock, former CEO of Eschenbach Optik. Jorg Reinhold has been named the new CEO.
‘With PEP I was able to successfully initiate the succession for my company,’ said Anderl. ‘Together we will continue along ic! berlin’s unapologetic path. I am happy that we were able to inspire our new co-owners with our plans for the future.’
The company employs around 190 staff in Berlin and in locations across Europe, Asia and North America.
