Hampshire-based Taylor Optical Products has introduced two new short-corridor progressive lenses this month.
The Genesis and Piccolo lenses feature a new Eye-Point technology which the Israeli manufacturer Shamir/Eyal claims adapts the shape of the lens to the eye. The Genesis lens has a short 15mm-wide corridor with a 20mm-reading area designed to provide minimal distortion. With a fitting height of 18mm it is suitable for all frames over 28mm deep. It is available in a wide range of materials, including CR39, 1.6 plastic, 1.6 glass (white and photochromic) and 1.7 glass. The Piccolo has an ultra short 13mm corridor with a fitting height of 16mm, and is suitable for the smallest frames.
