Steve Allen, radio presenter for LBC, has been found in breach of the Ofcom broadcasting code for remarks he made on blind people.
A complaint was made after his programme on October 1, 2018, in which Allen mocked a blind man who had requested a guide horse due to his fear of dogs.
At the time, Allen said: ‘Well if he’s blind, tell him it’s a rabbit or something. I’ve never heard of anything so stupid.’
Ofcom judged Allen to be in breach of Rule 2.3, which requires offensive material to be justified within a context, and his comments were deemed pejorative and discriminatory.
