RCT launches art description sessions

A monthly online art description session for blind and partially sighted people has been created by the Royal Collection Trust (RCT).

A monthly online art description session for blind and partially sighted people has been created by the Royal Collection Trust (RCT).

The public openings of the Official Residences of The Queen are managed by RCT. Regular exhibitions to provide public access to the royal art collection are hosted by the charity, but since the beginning of the pandemic RCT had paused its regular descriptive tours for blind and partially sighted people at Buckingham Palace.

An initiative that provided online art description sessions was piloted by members of Sight Loss Councils from across the country, and has now been scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month until March by RCT.
