RNIB launches virtual marathon

​A virtual marathon event has been launched by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to raise funds for the charity.

The Marathon Mates event allows pairs to split a distance of 26.2 miles between them over the month of September and is free to sign up to, with a fundraising target of £150 per pair.

RNIB’s senior fundraising manager Lizzi Wagner explained: ‘Marathon Mates is a great new way to exercise with a friend, whether you’re regular runners or looking to step up your fitness, side by side or miles apart. This is a particularly challenging time for people living with sight loss and the money raised will help us to provide support and advice.’
