Safilens launches its first daily contact lens for asthenopia

Last week, Safilens launched its first daily contact lens for asthenopia in front of a large audience at Opti Munich.

The Fusion 1day Vista features a D-Stress design which the company claims will enhance depth of field. It is also designed to reduce eye strain from daily activities that over-stress proximal vision.

According to manufacturers, the controlled release of natural substitutes for the tear film from the lens to the eye surface will ensure long-lasting comfort in dry environments.

‘The aim of this design,’ explains Alessandro Filippo, R&D manager for Safilens, ‘is to ensure an anti-fatigue effect; that is, to alleviate the symptoms of eye strain, such as dry eye and headache.’
