A partnership between Shamir Optical and Formula One racing team Alpine has been announced that made Shamir Alpine’s optical performance partner.
Through the partnership the lens company said it would attempt to improve the visual quality and safety of every race team member.
The partnership would also precede the creation of Formula 1’s first vision performance lab, which Shamir said would provide the team’s drivers, pit crew, pit wall and personnel with high performance ophthalmic assessment across two sites.
Alpine vice president of sales and marketing, Cédric Journel, said: ‘Visual excellence is a much-underexplored area in our sport and we look forward to exploring new avenues with Shamir to improve performance through visual tools and processes.’
Shamir added that its logo will appear on Alpine’s equipment while it supplied the team with its most advanced safety equipment and lenses.
