Sight loss charities receive emergency fund

The Thomas Pocklington Trust has distributed its emergency fund

Sight loss charities across the UK have received a share of £500,000 from the Thomas Pocklington Trust’s (TPT) emergency fund which was set up in March.

The charity suspended normal grant funding and has now allocated financial aid to 55 sight loss organisations to provide support during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Charles Colquhoun, CEO of the TPT, said: ‘We are delighted TPT has been able to support a wide range of sight loss organisations during this unsettling time. This funding is absolutely crucial for many organisations working across the UK to be able to continue to provide critical services for the physical and emotional wellbeing of blind and partially sighted people. The fund was specifically set up to help those organisations which are directly supporting people in the communities.’
