SightCare has postponed its conference after it was announced a bank holiday and the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II would take place on September 19.
John French, CEO of SightCare, said: ‘This was not an easy decision to make considering the proximity to the event and the many stakeholders involved. However, SightCare is acutely respectful of the need to allow its independent optical practice members, conference exhibitors and event partners to pay their respects to Her Majesty and commemorate her reign.’
French noted it would have proved difficult for delegates to attend given school closures, restricted travel and its members’ desires to pay their respects. The event has been rescheduled for January 29-30, 2023 at Telford International Centre.
