Austrian eyewear producer Silhouette has boosted its green credentials with the installation of rooftop solar panels at its Linz headquarters.
Over 2,500m2 solar panels have been fitted – including 1,156 photovoltaic modules and 10 AC converters. Providing a 393kWp of nominal power and, when operating at its peak annual capacity of 276kW, the system could supply enough solar power to fuel approximately 200 Austrian homes.
The company said CO2 emissions were predicted to fall by 240 tons a year and reduced the energy purchased externally by 10% every 12 months.
