Six students are awarded their Doctor of Optometry degrees

A total of six students have been awarded their Doctor of Optometry degrees.

Jointly run by the Institute of Optometry and London South Bank University, the ceremony took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

The graduates included Paul Grace, Claudia Ashleigh, Sharifa Hirani, David Hillel Burns, David Parkins and Kath Goris.

Professor Bruce Evans, who was director of studies for all six researchers, said: ‘I am incredibly proud of the achievements of these six remarkable optometrists. It has been a great pleasure to see these clinicians develop into researchers through the doctorate process, and to see their very worthwhile research add to the evidence base underlying optometric practice. I am very grateful to my co-supervisors: David Edgar, Judith Morris, Peter Allen, Martin Benwell and Helen Swarbrick.’
