Specsavers and Brake raised awareness of the importance of vision and driving as part of Road Safety Week (November 16-22) with a joint campaign.

The companies donate high-visibility vests to schools and community groups and encouraged drivers to get a sight test to ensure they can see clearly on the road.

Giles Edmonds, clinical services director at Specsavers, said: ‘Having good eyesight is one of the most basic requirements of safe driving. It means drivers will be able to spot potential dangers, see pedestrians and other vehicles, read road signs and judge speed, distance and movement. Without this, there can be catastrophic consequences on the road.’
