Specsavers recalls CL solution

Specsavers has sent out an email to customers urging any who use the Easyvision Easypurpose contact lens solution to return the product.

In the email, Specsavers said the product’s manufacturer, CooperVision, had identified that its quality testing determined ‘that the product may not offer appropriate levels of disinfection in some circumstances against high levels of a particular yeast organism.’

Specsavers added that no complaints had been received and there were no confirmed incidents attributed to inadequate disinfection. The company has offered customers an alternative multipurpose solution in their next packet of CLs.

Customers will be entitled to a refund whether or not the solution has been opened and used, as long as the bottle is retained. A recall website has been set up at bit.ly/36WkDcN
