Spectator hit by a golf ball at the Ryder Cup says she has lost sight in her right eye

A spectator hit by a golf ball at the Ryder Cup says she has lost sight in her right eye and is planning to sue the organisers.

Corine Remande was hit in the eye by a tee shot from American Brooks Koepka on the opening day of the competition (September 28). Earlier this week, she told AFP news that her eye socket had been broken and that her eyeball had ‘exploded,’ before being repaired by surgeons. A report on the BBC said Remande would only be able to see shapes in future.

Remande said she planned to take legal action against tournament organisers as there was no warning from officials before the ball travelled into the spectator area. A statement issued by the European Tour said ‘fore’ had been shouted several times.
