French eyewear producer faces closure with potential loss of 220 jobs

French eyewear producer Groupe Logo was facing closure with the potential loss of up to 220 jobs after licenses accounting for 97% of its turnover were not renewed.

The company has produced Tag Heuer and FRED eyewear on behalf of luxury good conglomerate LVMH for nearly 20 years and has worked almost exclusively with the two brands during that time.

According a report in French newspaper Le Parisien, 300 people, including friends and family of Groupe Logo staff, attended a silent march in Morez, near the company’s Jura factory to express their dismay.

Renault Semerdjian, the Groupe Logo’s lawyer said there was little interest from potential buyers.
