British eyewear manufacturer opens its fourth London practice

British eyewear manufacturer TD Tom Davies has opened its fourth London practice at luxury boutique destination, the Royal Exchange in the City of London.

TD Tom Davies managing director Tom Davies said the location was chosen because of his close ties with some of the other brand owners in residence at the Royal Exchange. In all cases, it was one of its best performing locations in London.

Like the other three practices in Sloane Square, Kensington and Canary Wharf, the practice will offer a full bespoke service alongside advanced clinical facilities. ‘Ninety percent of the frames we sell in the practices are bespoke and this is really the success of each one,’ said Davies.

‘The fit out took far longer than expected,’ added Davies. ‘It is a Grade II listed building and there seemed to be problems at every stage. However, I managed to negotiate a six-month rent-free period so the overall deal worked out pretty well.’

Plans for a fifth London practice, located in Covent Garden, were revealed to Optician. After that, Davies had plans to open practices in New York.
