Toric launch

Contact lens company mark'ennovy Personalised Care has launched the first toric contact lens in the market specifically designed for PC users.

Equilibria aims to help people who tend to fix their vision on the screen and so decrease the frequency with which they blink, provoking dryness and dehydration of the lens.
The company chose the new Hioxifilcon-A 59 per cent material from Benz Research and Development Corp, which, it claims, loses less than 1 per cent of its water content.
The company explained that, because Equilibria is extremely resistant to water loss, a relatively thin central thickness could be incorporated, which creates an improvement in oxygen transmission. The lens has a back surface toric geometry with a 1D prism, and is available in a complete range of base curves, spheres, cylinders and axes.
The product is only available in three-monthly frequent replacement packs of two units per eye (a six-month supply).
