Truffles the cat helps children feel comfortable in glasses

Pet cat fitted with glasses to help kids feel comfortable wearing their own pair

An American optometrist has fitted her pet cat with glasses to help younger patients feel comfortable wearing their own pair.

Dr Danielle Crull who works at A Child’s Eyes in Pennsylvania specialises in fitting children with spectacles, and came up with idea to give her feline friend Truffles a pair of glasses to show kids that they don’t need to be hesitant about wearing them.

She said to Fox10: ‘I wondered if I could get her to wear a pair of glasses because that would be really great for kids to see, that would make them feel more comfortable. Because obviously, in this business, some kids come in and they’re fine. But we do get a lot of really shy, scared kids–and especially if their parents don’t wear glasses, it’s very foreign to them.’

Dr Crull also filmed Truffles be fitted with her second pair of glasses after growing out of the first pair to highlight that children may also move on to a new pair.
