VCHP struggles to reopen clinics

VCHP has highlighted the challenge of re-opening its clinics

Vision Care for Homeless People has highlighted the challenge of re-opening its clinics because its host centres are operating with restricted services.

In a newsletter, the charity said that it is operating at just over 10% capacity and needs more volunteers to carry out risk assessments and implement procedures.

Teams have been put together at each clinic, but some need more volunteers to help physically prepare the clinics and ensure it is ready with items such as personal protective equipment.

It added that Covid-19 systems, procedures and training is ready and noted that it developed an online recruitment system in order to bring back over 100 volunteers to the clinics.
