Professor Barry Winn, who has been instrumental in establishing Bradford University's new fast-track' optometry course, is to leave the department to join Hull University.
He will join Hull in a pro-vice-chancellor position from September this year after overseeing the start of the Bradford course as dean of life sciences. Professor Winn spent nine years at the Yorkshire university working across a range of projects.
The new optometry course has 24 students on its first run (News, May 23). All are dispensing opticians on the GOC contact lens list.
