Zeiss holds Facebook Live event to mark the birthday of Claude Monet

Zeiss held a Facebook Live event to mark the birthday of Claude Monet this week.

It said the impressionist artist painted with the aid of Zeiss lenses and, in 1923, underwent cataract surgery and was fitted with Zeiss ‘Katral’ lenses.

Keith Cockram, commercial director of Zeiss Vision Care UK, said: ‘Knowing impressionist masters like Claude Monet trusted their vision to Zeiss lenses really brings home the history and heritage of the Zeiss brand for customers and patients alike.

‘What’s even more impressive, are the innovations we have delivered over the past 174 years. If Monet were alive today, he could wear Zeiss UVProtect Lenses to reduce the likelihood of cataract formation and safeguard his tremendous vision.’
