I thought we would see out the summer holidays with a clinical section a little different from our usual. I am sometimes accused of being dismissive of some of the less orthodox and established approaches to optometry and so this week we publish two main features in such areas.

Behavioural optometry is one such approach and I have always been reluctant to accept papers on this mode of practice for publication. There are many practitioners who use a variety of vision assessment and therapy techniques that fall under the behavioural heading, and the practice has a significant following both here and in the US.
