Chris Bennett: A little effort can make a huge difference

Plastic hasn’t had a good press lately and the pressure on the pernicious polymer looks likely to increase as its impact on the environment breaks into the mainstream media.

This issue of Optician is themed on the environment and In Focus looks at contact lens disposal. The issue of waste is something Optician returns to on a regular basis. Last year’s environmental issue (25.08.17) looked at manufacturing while Claire Goldsmith’s candid take on waste and designer frames (07.09.18) provided food for thought.

The blight of plastic is nothing new but as a provider of plastic products retail optics has to play its part in educating people about managing their plastic lifestyles.
