January represents a great opportunity to start the year as you mean to go on and one of the first good decisions you can make is getting your entry in for the Optician Awards.
Winning an Optician Award is probably the greatest accolade those working in the retail optical business can aspire to. It’s certainly a great way of putting your practice and staff on the map.
One of the beauties of the Awards process is that it spans the whole of the optical profession. It recognises and rewards practices, products and people. It also offers the chance for all practice staff to shine whether they be in the lab, consulting room or the dispensing area.
The power of the Optician Awards starts the moment you make the decision to enter. Looking at your practice, the way you do things or your product in the way others might is a cathartic exercise.
Winners constantly tell us this when they are interviewed and profiled in Optician. Another favourite observation from winners is that they didn’t expect to win. But the Optician Awards were created for people just like you. You can’t buy an Optician Award and you don’t win one by getting your mates to vote for you. Each Optician Award is judged by a hand-picked panel of people who understand the business.
A place on one of these panels is an accolade in itself and I am grateful to the many people who make themselves available.
Have you got your entry in for the 2017 Optician Awards yet and, if not, why not?
Doing things differently looks like being a bit of a theme for 2017 why not start by entering the awards today.
