Chris Bennett: Optrafair will put a spring in your step

Optrafair is a must for those serious about the optical market

While winter doggedly refuses to release its grip the year romps by, Easter may be behind us but for all things optical the fun is just about to start.

Optrafair arrives next weekend to fill the National Exhibition Centre in the Midlands with everything and everyone who is anything in optics.

This iconic, now annual, event is a must for those serious about the optical market. Optrafair is so much more than a trade show with aisle after aisle filled wIth a plethora of products from cases to computer software, dry eye drops to designer sunglasses and frames to finance.

And it’s not all about products. There are no fewer than three lecture theatres offering hundreds of hours of CET points, business advice and interactive discussion on the issues of the day. For the fashion-minded there’s the Spectrum Catwalk where models will strut their stuff and display the latest eyewear trends.

Above all Optrafair is a chance to network and pick up on ideas. If you are a business owner you should be encouraging your staff to go along, if you are an employed optometrist, DO or assistant ask your boss for time to attend and if you are a student jump on the Optrafair train to see the opportunities your career offers.

Students and newly qualified staff are being invited to the Optician stand (H31) to take advantage of a free careers advice service being offered by employment experts Vivid Optical.

Throughout the show www.opticianonline.net will be updating you with the latest news and we want you to post your top stories. Our reporters will be on hand to help you craft the words and upload photographs to the website, so bring along your launches, announcements and wins to stand H31.
