I am writing in response to the editorial comment, ‘That was the NEH Week that was’, published in Optician last month.

As a supporter of and contributor to NEHW, the AOP was delighted to see the week’s success, and to have the opportunity to work with colleagues in optical bodies, charities and professionals in its delivery.

It was good to see Optician also recognising our work through our A B See campaign and I am glad you heard the coverage on Radio 2. Your readers may be interested to know that it achieved 112 broadcast hits with coverage on and interviews on BBC Breakfast, BBC lunchtime news and interviews on over 50 radio stations including 5 Live and BBC Radio 4, and we’re delighted that the message was reported so widely.

We believe that the more we can all do to raise the profile of eye health throughout the year the better.
