Delegates looking for practical skills to use while delivering services through a Primary Eyecare Company will be well catered for at NOC 2017. Sessions on step-down care and Sustainable Transformation Partnerships (STPs) are among the workshops taking place and delegates can attend up to four during the new-look conference. Optical staff delivering extended primary eye care services through a PEC are being urged to apply for one of the free places each LOC receives.

Bookings are now open and Locsu has set up a dedicated Facebook and Twitter feed offering instant updates straight to your device. Sign up via the web.

NOC plays a pivotal role in the life of the LOC, helping to develop today’s officers and inspire tomorrow’s optical leaders. NOC 2017 will herald a new approach. This year’s conference, on Thursday, November 9, at Chesford Grange, Warwickshire, will see a greater emphasis on practical skills, role-based learning, and networking opportunities for delegates which LOCs will benefit from on their return.

Following the introduction of the new one-day format for NOC 2017, we are also looking to establish a series of regional conferences for LOCs and Primary Eyecare Companies to begin in Spring 2018. With the NHS looking to introduce STP footprints as the delivery model, it is important for optics that our eyecare companies, particularly at a regional level, have the right blend of personnel and expertise to make the business case for optical practices as the setting for extended primary eye care services.

The changes we are making to the NOC will reflect that need within LOCs and Primary Eyecare Companies. Find regular updates by following the NOC Facebook page and the NOC Twitter account [@noclocsu] or follow the hashtag #nocloc.
