Two events this month reflect the range of Locsu’s strategic activities. Locsu was involved in responding to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Eye Health report into capacity issues and the subsequent press release on behalf of the Optical Confederation.

In it, the OC called on Jeremy Hunt to take urgent action to reform eye health services with more than 20 people a month going blind due to appointment delays. Moving non-emergency services into high-street optical practices could tackle the crisis, the OC insists.

The APPG’s report was launched at a Parliamentary reception and was supported by the Royal National Institute of Blind People and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as well as the OC. Locsu and the OC were among the 100-plus organisations who responded.
