View from the BCLA: An incredible opportunity

If, as they say, a week is a long time in politics then a month in optometry seems like a lifetime. It is hard to believe it is just four weeks since I took over as president of the BCLA and it is a role I am enjoying getting stuck into.

Being named president of an association I joined more than 30 years ago is a huge honour. I am thrilled, proud, humbled and excited in equal measure.

The chance to lead such an amazing organisation, revered nationally and globally, is an incredible opportunity.

In these days of international discord, I am proud to head a unique multidisciplinary, multinational and multicultural group of members. I want to encourage unity as a profession, to share this common passion of contact lenses and the anterior eye, which we can all utilise to help improve eye care provision.
