After a long pause in patients being able to have eye examinations, Juul & Payne Advanced Eyecare in Bristol is now seeing an increase in patients presenting with eye problems. In our opinion, this was mostly because they were too scared to go to the eye hospital and could not get an appointment with their GP.
We installed the Wave Analyser Medica 800 (WAM 800) from Essilor Instruments in June this year and were the first in the UK to start using the device for eye health screenings that included topography, prescription changes, glaucoma monitoring, cataracts and keratoconus testing.
It was back at 100% Optical in January 2020 where we first came across the WAM 800 on Essilor’s stand and we were really interested in the large volume of data it provided in a very short time frame.
