Taking time to pause and ponder the burning questions of the day and track the future trajectory of the profession is something few take time to do. Even the coldest temperatures and heaviest snow for five years could not keep delegates away from Alcon’s attempt to achieve that. The event was the Alconversation which offered the chance for those in optics to pose the questions they felt needed airing to a panel of experts.
On the panel were Alistair Bridge director of policy at the General Optical council, Andrew Price of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians and Gordon Ilett representing the AOP. The chairman for the day was Richard Edwards a former professional services lead for Boots Opticians and currently clinical advisor to the Optical Consumer Complaints Service.
