Awards 2016: Constant study pays dividends for Andrew Oliver

Four months on since the Optician April awards night, Andrew Oliver, of Tompkins, Knight and Son Optometrists (TK&S) in Northampton, says: ‘There were many emotions. Excitement, anticipation, rush of adrenaline, tears of happiness. The awards night was an accumulation of the last year’s hard work and excitement. Getting back to my table after collecting the Optician Award and having so many people from other tables waiting to congratulate me made it so special. I really enjoy my work and how I can change my patients lives for the better.’

The Optician judges agreed: ‘This entrant was able to demonstrate experience and enthusiasm in equal measure. Oliver creates a positive atmosphere in practice and externally to champion dispensing and the importance of eye health. His knowledge of lens technology and the latest frame products makes this person a credit to the profession.’
