Charities and other not-for-profit organisations whose activities are in vision and eye health-related areas are invited to enter this category.
Entries are invited from organisations that provide services either in the UK or overseas, so long as their organisation and fundraising activities have a connection to the UK market.
Submissions can be made either on behalf of the organisation as a whole, or based around individual projects or achievements. The panel of judges will be looking for entries that give an insight into the specific goals and achievements of the organisation.
Entries should explain how funds have been raised and provide evidence of novel and innovative methods used. Evidence should also be provided to demonstrate the effective use of resources once they have been raised and a systematic and efficient approach to helping those in need.
Entries are welcome from large and small charities and the panel of judges will take into consideration the scale of the charity's programmes. Submissions will be accepted from charities employing professional fundraisers and those that operate using volunteers or part-time staff.
What the sponsor says
The Outside Clinic is delighted once again to have the opportunity to sponsor the Charity Campaign of the Year Award. We believe it is vital that as a profession we recognise, support and reward individuals and organisations both large and small for the fantastic contribution they make to not only this country but the world's optical health.
Vital and much needed research, fund raising, eye health awareness and practical support is happening every day and making a real difference to the quality of people's lives. For those who give freely of their time, expertise and energy, The Outside Clinic salutes you.
The more we invest now, the greater the chance that preventable blindness could be a thing of the past. Also, the harder we work and the greater the support now, means that sight-impaired children and adults can and will be able to achieve all they can and want to in their lives.
The Outside Clinic will this year be reaching out to charitable organisations through our everyday work echoing what the Eye Health Alliance advocates: 'How crucial regular sight tests are for the whole population' and: 'To maximise the provision of services for those most in need so we can help eliminate avoidable blindness in the UK.'
