Manager of DG Opticians convicted of sexual assault

Dispensing optician Dilesh Gohil, a practice manager based in the north of England, has been found guilty of sexual assault at Minshull Crown Court in Manchester.

A report in the Manchester Evening News said that Gohil had groped a woman ‘in a moment of madness.’ The court heard that he ran his hand down the woman’s back before trying to massage her. When she tried to get away, the court heard, Gohil ‘grabbed her in a hold’ before ‘hugging her body tightly' to his.

In a statement read out by prosecuting counsel, Julian Taylor, the victim described how the assault had left her feeling depressed, anti-social and withdrawn.
