After much deliberation, the overall winner is Lynne Jackson of the Isle of Sheppey. A sample of her submission is published here. Worthy prize-winning runners-up were Tim Wooley of Kent, Rachel Smith (Winchester) and Ronnie MacGregor of Stranraer. All will appear as features in forthcoming issues.

A 45-year-old lady was seen as an emergency appointment. She was a secretary and used a VDU most of the day. She had never worn spectacles or had ocular problems. Her general health was good and she was taking no medication. She reported photophobia and watery eyes for one week and blurred vision for two days, making VDU use difficult.
