Ocular coherence tomography (OCT) is fast becoming a part of everyday optometric practice. As reflected in the pages of Optician over the past few years there are several instruments already on the market.
Nidek has recently released its instrument for sale, having first unveiled it at Optrafair back in April. The RS-3000 (RS standing for RetinaScan) is a high resolution spectral domain OCT instrument (Figure 1). It is being marketed with an emphasis on ease of use. It does also have one or two interesting features worthy of note.
