This week’s Echoes of the past retrospective from the August 28 issue from 1964 shows that unwillingness to visit an optician is a long-standing problem. An ophthalmic optician’s analysis of 1,000 consecutive patients found that 557 people were motivated to visit the optician by being unable to see clearly or comfortably.
