Efclin: The road to profit

There were no CET points on offer at the EFCLIN Congress in Venice last month, but plenty to interest practitioners as well as manufacturers. Alison Ewbank reports on a programme dedicated to niche products and their marketing

At first glance, manufacturers of diamond tools and packaging might not have much in common with the average contact lens practitioner. But their ultimate goal is the same: better products that will grow the contact lens business.

The EFCLIN Congress is a conference with a difference. It is here that manufacturers and suppliers to the contact lens industry gather each year to exhibit their products and make business contacts. More than 270 delegates came from 30 countries to attend this year’s congress in Venice – record numbers for an event that has grown in recent years and become increasingly international.
