EVER 27th Annual Meeting: Ever so informative

The 27th Annual Meeting of the European Association for Vision and Eye Research (Ever) had been scheduled for November 3-5, 2024. Following weeks of heavy rain and flash flooding in the Valencia region of Spain, it looked unlikely that the meeting could go ahead. The Ever executive board, along with the organising company and conference venue in Valencia, held several meetings before eventually deciding to go ahead with the conference face to face.  

This decision was not taken lightly and was based on Valencia city itself being largely unaffected by the floods, the airport being operational and the conference centre being keen for us to go ahead, not least to ensure organisers of subsequent events could be put at ease that Valencia was ‘open for business’.
